How to prepare a tractor for the season or work

Preparing a tractor for the season is a mandatory process on the eve of sowing or harvesting work. Proper and timely preparation will guarantee long-term uninterrupted operation of the equipment. At the height of the season, a tractor breakdown can cause the entire process to stop and cause considerable losses.
How to prepare a tractor for work
How to prepare a tractor for work and what is needed for this? Every farmer and every machine operator needs to know the answers to these questions. First of all, it should be understood that preparation is equally important for a tractor that has worked for more than one season and for new equipment. First of all, it is checking the fuel level and engine operation - then testing, repairing and adjusting other components (units) - chassis, electrical equipment, hydraulics, brake system, etc.
Preparing a tractor for the season consists of the following stages:
Preliminary preparation. Inspect the engine, check the condition of threaded and other connections, the integrity of the fuel and working fluid tanks, the battery's performance;
Cleaning. Remove oil stains with a rag soaked in diesel fuel, clean from dirt with improvised means;
Refueling. Pour fuel, coolant, water into the washer tank, fill in fuel, check the oil level in the crankcase, fuel pump, starter motor reducer, power take-off shaft (PTO) reducer;
Lubrication. Treat the clutch mechanisms, control levers, splines connecting the cardan and PTO, upper axle, central linkage pins of the attachment mechanism with solidol;
Checking the belts. Check the tension of the generator, cooling fan, water pump and compressor belts;
Starting the engine. Turn on the ignition, wait for the results of the system self-diagnosis (if such an option). After starting, warm up the engine with periodic gassing for 3-5 minutes. If there are no interruptions, knocking and extraneous noise, and the exhaust gases are clear and moderate, then the engine is working normally.
Checking the instruments. The diesel engine works normally with the following indicators:
Electrolyte density in the battery 1.25/1.27 g/cm3;
Coolant temperature +65/+85;
Engine oil pressure 1 kgf/cm2 (0.3/0.5 MPa).
Checking the performance of the systems. After warming up, check the operation of the steering, brakes, clutch, gearbox, electrical equipment, headlights, windshield wipers, air conditioner, etc.;
It is not recommended to leave the diesel engine idling for more than 30 minutes.
To shut it off, you need to:
Remove the load;
Set the minimum PTO speed using the control lever;
After 3 minutes, move this lever to the lowest position;
Turn off the engine.
Knowing how to prepare the tractor for work and do it correctly makes it possible to ensure its reliability and efficiency throughout the season.
The tractor will work without breakdowns only if thorough preparation is carried out, and high-quality consumables, components and spare parts are used during maintenance and repair. This is possible with mutually beneficial cooperation with proven, well-known in the agricultural market for their professionalism suppliers, for example, AgroKar LLC.
