SPIKE against hogweed: Lviv region communities received equipment for real combat
The Turkivska, Strilkivska and Borynska communities of Lviv region have begun a systematic fight against hogweed using SPIKE TK 904 tractors. Ukrainian equipment from the Agro Kar company (Kropyvnytskyi) will be used to mechanically destroy the dangerous plant in the affected areas.
The community received the tractors as part of the implementation of the Interreg NEXT Poland – Ukraine 2021-2027 Program “Protection of the biodiversity of cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of hogweed (Heracleum)”. This is not about one-time visits, but about constant mechanical cultivation of the land, which allows you to restrain the spread of the invasive plant.
Sosnovsky's hogweed is one of the most dangerous invasive plants in Ukraine. It grows rapidly, poses a threat to human health and displaces local flora.
Why SPIKE?
To perform these tasks, the SPIKE TK 904 with a capacity of 90 hp was chosen - a universal tractor that works effectively in difficult conditions and with various attachments.
The tractor is equipped with a YTO turbodiesel engine, 4×4 all-wheel drive and a synchronized 12+12R gearbox with reverse gear, which ensures maneuverability and stable operation in overgrown and difficult areas. The hydraulic system with three pairs of outputs allows the use of a wide range of attachments.
The load capacity of 2 tons makes SPIKE suitable for multi-operation tasks, and the well-thought-out ergonomics of the cabin make it comfortable for long-term work.

Despite the international support of the project, the key remains the use of Ukrainian equipment, which already meets European requirements and the real needs of communities.
The first Kropivnytskyi tractor SPIKE TK 1054, manufactured at the facilities of Agro Kar Ukraine LLC, was officially recognized as Ukrainian equipment at the state level and included in the list of domestic equipment of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
