Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vitaliy Koval: Production of Ukrainian tractors is a reality

The Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval, during the presentation of the new model of the SPIKE TK 1054 tractor, noted that this is an important step into the future and this is just the beginning.

“The new agricultural machine “Spike” was presented in Kropyvnytskyi. It is manufactured by the Agro Kar company and uses spare parts and components from domestic enterprises. Currently, they produce 12 tractors per month. After launching the assembly line, they plan to increase the volume to 50 units. The Ukrainian agricultural sector needs the development of mechanical engineering. And the Ministry of Agrarian Policy supports such initiatives. After all, it is about new jobs, the development of a domestic engineering school, support for local enterprises and taxes paid to the budget of a warring country,” Vitaliy Koval emphasized.

According to World Bank estimates, as a result of Russian aggression, more than 181 thousand units of agricultural machinery and equipment were destroyed or damaged, of which more than 18 thousand were tractors. Moreover, Ukrainian farmers spent 1.2 billion euros last year on the import of agricultural machinery. That is, the market for their own production is huge.

“I am convinced that we are taking an important step into the future and this is just the beginning. We need to move towards the production of not only tractors, but also other agricultural machinery. Taking into account innovative approaches, the latest technologies and artificial intelligence,” concluded Minister of Agriculture and Industrial Complex Vitaliy Koval.
